The Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Rosário Palma Ramalho, announced that the government will assign an extraordinary supplement to pensioners. This supplement represents an estimated cost of around 400 million euros for the State.
Rosário Palma Ramalho publicly assured that this measure will not cause any imbalance in Portuguese public accounts, ensuring the financial sustainability of the initiative.
The supplement is intended for pensioners and constitutes a measure to support the purchasing power of this segment of the population. The government justifies the measure as a response to the economic difficulties faced by pensioners.
