The INEM strike was called off after a meeting between workers and the Ministry of Health. The moment was described as "the triumph of common sense", reflecting an agreement reached between the parties.
Rui Cruz highlighted that the Health Minister agreed with the strikers to add more than 200 Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians (TEPH) to the system. This reinforcement represents a victory for the professionals who threatened to go ahead with the strike.
The negotiation allowed avoiding the strike that could have affected emergency medical services in Portugal. The agreement demonstrates that dialogue between the government and INEM workers was fundamental in resolving the labor conflict.
