Francisco Penim spoke this Friday on the NOW show about the promotional video he created to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. During the interview, he explained the concept and creative process behind this production that marks the commemoration of the quarter century since the attacks in the United States.
The director recalled that he was having lunch with comedian Nuno Markl when the attacks occurred. It was only when the second plane hit the Twin Towers that both of them realized the true magnitude of what was happening at that historic moment.
To visually recreate the moments of the attack, Penim used a computer simulation, employing digital technology to illustrate the planes hitting the Twin Towers, allowing for a visual representation of the events that marked world history.
