The Brazilian film "London" was awarded at the Venice Film Festival this Friday (11). The work was selected for Critics' Week and won the Queer Lion award, sharing the honor with the film "Queer Edward II", directed by Theo Rollason. The film is directed by Victor di Marco and Márcio Picoli.
The Queer Lion is an award that highlights the best work with LGBTQIA+ themes among all the titles present at the festival. Last year, the award was given to the Mexican film "En el camino".
The story of "London" follows a young man with a disability who works at a fetish establishment performing erotic performances. When a medical appointment offers him the opportunity to better understand his condition, the young man hesitates for fear of being labeled.
The protagonist London is played by Victor di Marco himself, who is also the author of a bestseller book. The film represents Brazilian production in the international competition of Critics' Week, one of the most traditional sections of the Italian festival.
