Years before the September 11 attacks of 2001, Rick Rescorla, a former soldier, had already predicted and imagined an attack on the World Trade Center from the air. His military experience was fundamental in anticipating this type of threat.
Rescorla was responsible for security at Morgan Stanley in the World Trade Center in New York. Given his suspicions about a possible attack, he spent several years preparing the company's workers for emergency situations, conducting exercises and evacuation drills.
On the day of the attacks, when two planes crashed into the twin towers, Rescorla did not hesitate and dedicated himself to saving thousands of people, ensuring the safe evacuation of Morgan Stanley employees who worked in the building.
Unfortunately, the former soldier lost his life during the rescue operation, becoming one of the victims of the terrorist attacks that killed nearly three thousand people that day.
