The National Republican Guard (GNR) is patrolling the streets of the Porto district with the aim of alerting the population to scams. The awareness campaign aims to prevent citizens against this type of crime, which has been increasing in the region.

A total of 1,779 fraud crimes were recorded in the geographical area of the Porto district. This high number of incidents motivated the GNR's action to alert the population to the most common schemes used by scammers.

The GNR is developing community outreach activities with citizens, distributing information and alerts on how to identify and avoid fraud situations. Military personnel are present in various areas of the district to reach as many people as possible.
