The competition jury at the Venice Film Festival will have to decide between awarding mediocre works or singular films. The question arises after the presentation of the last films in the competition, which closed the official selection.
Two films were shown as the competition's closing films. The first was "A Bit of Light", directed by Ali Asgari. The second was "Ritorno a Buenos Aires", directed by Marco Bechis.
The jury's decision will be known on Saturday. It remains to be seen which orientation will predominate among the jury members: whether they will opt for praising mediocrity or valuing more singular and distinct proposals in the cinematographic landscape.
