The JPP party (Juntos pelo Povo) presented a request for a parliamentary inquiry into the procedures adopted by Luís Neves during his tenure as national director of the Judicial Police. This is the second request to this effect presented by the party.
Luís Neves is currently the Minister of Internal Administration, having assumed this position after his tenure as head of the PJ. The inquiry request aims to clarify issues related to his performance at the head of the Judicial Police.
The request comes following concerns raised about the methods and decisions made by Luís Neves during his term as national director of the PJ, before rising to the ministerial position.
JPP's request aims to have parliament evaluate and oversee Luís Neves's conduct in that role, at a time when the current minister continues to hold the Internal Administration portfolio in the government.
