140 organizations warn of humanitarian emergency and growing tension

Açoriano Oriental11 September 2026 at 17:40

More than 140 Spanish social solidarity organizations made an appeal for the response to migrants in Ceuta to be reinforced and accelerated. These organizations signed a joint statement warning about the gravity of the situation.

The signatory entities state that there is a "humanitarian emergency" in Ceuta, a Spanish territory in North Africa. This emergency is having a growing impact on the life of the city.

The appeal from these organizations comes in a context of migratory flow to the Spanish enclave, which has been placing pressure on the reception and social assistance services available in Ceuta.
