EU residence permits grow 10.1% in 2025 with Brazilians in 4th place

The number of new residence permits in the European Union increased by 10.1% in 2025, representing 355,350 more permits compared to the previous year, totaling 3.9 million permits granted.

Brazilian citizens rank fourth among the nationalities that received residence permits in the EU, with a total of 170,400 permits granted.

The data is released by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, which monitors migration flows in the bloc.
