A 13-year-old adolescent was kept in private captivity for three days in an apartment in Praça Seca, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro. According to the Civil Police, the young girl managed to ask for help when the suspect, identified as Luciano Batalha de Oliveira, 54 years old, fell asleep. She notified residents of the condominium, who called the police.
The man was arrested for the crimes of rape and private captivity. The adolescent also reported having suffered sexual violence during the period she was held captive.
The young girl was found very nervous and crying. She was taken to a health unit, where she received care and medication, and later referred to the Medical Legal Institute (IML) for exams. The adolescent had gone to the apartment accompanied by a friend.
