The judicial processes filed with the aim of stopping the construction of the Pisão Dam will return to the first instance. This decision comes after a phase of appeals that took place in the higher courts.
The dam project represents an investment of over 220 million euros, making it one of the largest water infrastructures planned in the region.
The area occupied by the development covers approximately ten thousand hectares, significantly affecting the surrounding territory and local communities.
The submersion of the village of Pisão is one of the main consequences of the project, being one of the most controversial points and one that has motivated opposition from various entities and affected populations.
