Prime Minister Luís Montenegro acknowledged that there is a loss of quality in education in Portugal. At a time when the Executive is addressing the educational situation, Montenegro states that "we are here to face the difficulties," demonstrating the intention to address the problem directly.
The Government announced a set of measures to reverse this trend. The plan includes strengthening requirements and assessment in the educational system, in order to ensure better quality standards.
At the same time, the Executive intends to value teachers, recognizing their fundamental role in the teaching-learning process. This valorization appears as one of the priorities to improve school results.
The remaining measures include the requalification of schools and changes to curricula, aiming for a broader reformulation of the Portuguese educational system.
