Rodrigo Mora found at Roma the ideal scenario to recover the prominence he lost at FC Porto. The young Portuguese attacking midfielder already has four games for the Italian club, two of them as a starter, and the increased playing time is starting to reflect in the race for the Golden Boy award, given annually by Tuttosport newspaper to the best young footballer playing in Europe.
The distinction features 100 nominees and has Gianluca Prestianni as the best-positioned Benfica representative, currently in 27th place with 54.4 points. However, Rodrigo Mora is getting closer and putting pressure on the young eagle star.
The overall leader of the list is Pau Cubarsi with 83.4 points. The list also features two other players from the Portuguese League: João Simões, from Sporting, occupies 82nd position with 45.8 points, while Bastien Meupiyou, also from the lions, appears in 88th place with 45.1 points.
The Golden Boy was created in 2003 and annually recognizes the best young European footballer.
