The Federal Police issued a report indicating suspicion that banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Master bank, tried to influence the vote of Justice Dias Toffoli, of the Supreme Federal Court, in a ruling of interest to the financial institution. The information was revealed by Piauí magazine and was part of a document delivered by the Director-General of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, to the president of the Court, Edson Fachin, which had remained under seal until then.

Toffoli's office responded through a note stating that the ruling was the subject of a virtual session agenda and that the justice's vote was presented following the reporting justice, later being highlighted for an in-person session, when the vote was repeated in the same direction. The note emphasizes that there was no change in position whatsoever.

The ruling involved a billion-dollar compensation claim from a sugarcane and alcohol sector company that was seeking from the Union reparation for a loss caused in the 1980s. Although Master bank was not listed as a party in the case, the suspicion raised by the Federal Police is that Vorcaro may have acted to try to interfere with the outcome of the decision.
