The Constitutional Court refused the appeal presented by PAN and maintained the decision declaring the invalidity of the election of the party's national bodies. The decision was made by the judges at Palácio Ratton, the court's headquarters.
The election of the national bodies was considered invalid because it was held by a restricted set of the party's structures. Additionally, the election was conducted by a structure that the court deemed statutorily incompetent for this function.
According to the judges of the Constitutional Court, this situation compromises the legitimacy of the entire election of PAN's national bodies. The party had filed an appeal attempting to reverse the previous decision, but without success.
