Moraes Asks Fachin for Joint Trial With Report on Mendonça

oglobo11 September 2026 at 16:14

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), sent a document this Friday to the president of the Court, Edson Fachin, requesting that the plenary analyze jointly, in the extraordinary session scheduled for Tuesday, both the suspicions raised against him and the questions about the performance of Minister André Mendonça in the investigations related to Banco Master. The request seeks to unite the two themes to be considered simultaneously by the other ministers.

In the same document, Moraes accused Mendonça of having made a selection of the material that had its seal lifted, suggesting that there was a deliberate choice about which information would be disclosed. The minister also reported that 180 documents related to the investigations remained under seal, indicating that a large part of the evidentiary collection was not made public.

The case involves divergences between the two STF ministers regarding the investigations into Banco Master, with questions being raised about Mendonça's conduct in the process. The extraordinary session on Tuesday should debate both themes jointly, as requested by Moraes. This is an update on the case.
