Union of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians Calls Off Strike

Diário de Leiria11 September 2026 at 16:30

The Union of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians decided to call off the strike that was scheduled for the 14th and 28th of this month. The walkout was cancelled after the signing of an agreement with the Government.

The agreement was also reached with INEM, the National Institute of Medical Emergencies, which is the body responsible for coordinating pre-hospital emergency services in Portugal.

With the calling off of the strike, the effects of the stoppage that was planned for the two days of the current month are suspended, thus avoiding potential impacts on medical emergency services.
