The President of the United States, Donald Trump, publicly stated that he would do everything again in Iran, "exactly as he did". This declaration comes in a context of international tension and raises questions about the assessment the American administration makes of its own military strategy.
Major-general Agostinho Costa, security affairs specialist and CNN Portugal commentator, considers that Trump is likely "regretful" about the military operation he launched against Iran, unless he has "completely lost touch with reality".
According to the specialist, the situation in which the United States finds itself is "extremely difficult". Agostinho Costa warns that "if we had one problem, now we have two", referring to the worsening of tensions in the region.
This worsening is due, in part, to the appeal from Saudi Arabia to the Americans to intervene against the Houthis in Yemen, which represents a new front of conflict for the United States.
