Paes says relationship with Cabral is different from Castro's link with Ruas: 'He wasn't his employee'

The candidate for the state government Eduardo Paes (PSD) rejected the comparison between his relationship with former governor Sérgio Cabral and the link between also former governor Cláudio Castro and his main adversary in this election, Douglas Ruas. According to him, the past relationship with his former political ally was a partnership to govern the state, but not a continuity management, as is happening now. The statement was given during an interview in the series of debates by O GLOBO, EXTRA, Valor and CBN, this Friday.

Paes recalled that he was already mayor four times, that he was a candidate for governor in 2006 and that he made an alliance supporting Cabral in the second round. He also said that he was Cabral's secretary for a year and that he was a candidate for mayor, winning the elections with his support, but that it was not a candidacy anointed by him.

The PSD candidate pointed out that what is seen now is a different political project, that begins in Witzel's election, to whom Douglas Ruas already served. He stated that they have a project from Witzel, Cláudio Castro and that their plan was Rodrigo Bacellar, suggesting a management continuity different from his past situation with Cabral.
