The president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, considered that the cross-accusations at the Government Delegation in Ceuta represent a situation of "every man for himself". His statements refer to the conflict between himself and the former head of cabinet of the Government delegate, who recently submitted his resignation. Vivas stated that "Spanish institutions do not come out well" in the management of the crisis and in the way events unfolded.
Vivas guaranteed that, as a public official, he would never question the contributions of an organization with the prestige of the CNI, regardless of how they are presented. The president of Ceuta defended that this exchange of accusations justifies the Government of Ceuta having become an interested party in the case proceeding at the National Audience.
The president emphasized that Ceuta is "in the ICU" and that the city does not deserve for those responsible to go around denying knowledge of the facts, saying "I wasn't there", "I wasn't informed" or "I wasn't told". Vivas recalled that two people had, until yesterday, a close relationship of trust and that, suddenly, the next day one contradicted the other. "Every man for himself? Ceuta does not deserve this, nor does Spain", he concluded.
