The city of Guarda hosted the 1st Guarda Senior Open, a senior tennis tournament that marked a moment of great relevance for the national sporting scene. The event was organized by the Guarda Tennis Academy and brought together 24 tennis players representing 11 clubs from various regions of the country.
Throughout the competition, the local courts hosted various sporting days that provided high-level matches among the participants. The tournament allowed athletes to compete in a competitive environment while also getting to know the sports facilities of the Guarda region.
At the end of the event, João Brites was crowned champion of the 1st Guarda Senior Open, thus achieving the main title of this first edition of the tournament. The organization of the event by the Guarda Tennis Academy demonstrated the city's capacity to host national-level sports competitions.
