Nepal will need at least $4.78 billion, equivalent to €4.12 billion, to rebuild the areas affected by the flooding that hit the country in August. The estimate was announced today by Nepalese diplomacy.
The amount announced by the Nepalese government covers the estimated costs for the reconstruction of the areas devastated by the August flooding, which caused massive damage in several regions of the country.
The required amount represents a significant economic challenge for Nepal, one of the world's poorest countries, which may need international support to address the recovery of the affected areas.
