A passenger bus rolled over in the early morning of this Friday (11) on Lúcio Meira Highway (BR-393), at km 267, near the district of Dorândia, in Barra do Piraí, in Southern Fluminense. The accident left 28 people injured and happened around 1:15 AM.
According to the Fire Department, the driver of the vehicle felt ill before the rollover, was trapped in the wreckage and needed to be removed by the military. Rescue teams were dispatched shortly after 1 AM.
The operation mobilized about 30 professionals and nearly ten vehicles, in a joint action of the Fire Department, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and the Federal Highway Police (PRF). After the first aid at the scene, the injured were taken to hospitals in the region.
