The two-day strike called at INEM was called off after a meeting between the emergency medical technicians union and the Ministry of Health. The union announced that it was possible to reach an agreement with the government, which led to the suspension of the strike notice.
Rui Lázaro, representing the union, stated that the calling off of the strike occurred following this meeting with the Ministry of Health. The agreement reached made it possible to avoid the paralysis of emergency medical services during the two days initially planned for the strike.
The celebration by the emergency medical technicians union reflects their satisfaction with the negotiated terms. The Ministry of Health has not officially commented on the details of the agreement reached.
