The grounds of Império Serrano, in Madureira, were transformed into a movie theater this Saturday, October 12, to host the screening of the film Honestino, directed by Aurélio Michiles. The event was part of the celebrations for the 89th anniversary of the National Student Union (UNE), a student movement of historical significance in Brazil. The screening was scheduled to begin at 3 PM.
The feature film portrays the trajectory of Honestino, a former president of the UNE who was assassinated during the period of the Brazilian military dictatorship. The story of the university student, killed in the 1970s, is told in the film with actor Bruno Gagliasso in the lead role.
Bruno Gagliasso attended the event and participated in the debate about the film at the samba school's grounds. The screening in the Madureira area sought to bring Honestino's story closer to the audience and reinforce the memory of the student movement, attracting students and those interested in the history of the entity.
