A team of Filipino firefighters managed to board the ferry hit by a fire, the previous day, this Friday to continue the search operations for missing people. Access to the boat had been prevented by the dense smoke and extreme heat inside the vessel.
The fire caused the death of five people and left more than 80 missing. The ferry was carrying 117 passengers and 17 crew members when it was consumed by flames on Wednesday night.
The images captured at the scene show the ferry with major damage to the hull, after being hit by the fire. The authorities continue to coordinate rescue efforts to try to locate the passengers who are still missing.
