The French president, Emmanuel Macron, will make a state visit to Spain on September 29 and 30. The trip was reported by the newspaper La Vanguardia and confirmed by sources from the Moncloa Palace.
Spain and France intend to strengthen their bilateral relations to continue the agreements reached at the Barcelona summit in January 2023. On that occasion, issues related to border crossings and the energy agenda were addressed.
Energy interconnections between the two countries have been a point of friction in bilateral relations. Both governments are now seeking to find solutions to these pending issues during the French president's visit.
