The Municipal Chamber of Pombal expressed the ambition to continue being one of the main national references of winter athletics. This intention arises in the context of an agreement that involves the transfer of a short track to the city.
The Portuguese Athletics Federation (FPA), in collaboration with the Spanish and Catalan federations, managed to secure the transfer of a short track to Pombal. This international partnership demonstrates the recognition of the city as a privileged location for the practice of athletics.
The project is being developed in coordination with the Portuguese institution and the Government. At this moment, the entities involved are working on defining the costs associated with the transport of the track, its assembly, and the necessary structure to host the equipment.
This investment represents a joint effort between the federations and the political authorities to ensure that Pombal maintains its status in the national athletics scene, particularly during the winter season.
