Vieira do Minho takes another step towards a more sustainable municipality with the arrival of the Mobile Eco-Center

The Municipality of Vieira do Minho will receive a Braval Mobile Eco-Center, a partnership between the local council and the waste management company. The equipment will travel through the different parishes of the municipality fortnightly, remaining in each location for a determined period before moving on to the next location.

The initiative aims to reinforce the available solutions for the deposition, collection, and recovery of waste in the municipality, allowing residents to properly direct recyclable and hazardous waste that should not be deposited in mixed waste bins or in conventional eco-points.

The project is scheduled to begin on September 14, with the first stop in the parish of Anissó. Subsequently, the Mobile Eco-Center will travel through the remaining parishes of the municipality according to a schedule yet to be defined.

With this measure, the local council aims to bring waste management services closer to the population, facilitating access to appropriate disposal options for materials that require specialized treatment.

SMAS de Sintra invest one million euros to reduce water losses

The Municipal Water and Sanitation Services of Sintra (SMAS) are investing approximately one million euros to improve the efficiency of the water supply network, through the installation and renovation of Pressure Reducing Valves (PRV) and the creation of Measurement and Control Zones (MCZ). A 720 thousand euro contract will allow the installation of seven new PRVs and the renovation of eight others, while another 300 thousand euro intervention has already created eight new MCZ.
