Nine municipalities in the country are on Friday under maximum rural fire danger. These are the municipalities of Sardoal, Mação, Gavião, Nisa, Portalegre, Castelo de Vide, Marvão, Monchique and Portimão.
Of these nine municipalities under maximum danger, five are in the Portalegre district, two in the Faro district (Monchique and Portimão), one in the Santarém district (Sardoal) and one in the Portalegre district (Gavião).
In addition to the nine municipalities under maximum danger, another 70 municipalities in the country present very high danger of rural fire, the second most severe level on the risk scale.
The information on rural fire danger levels is provided by the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) and is updated daily.
