The new coastal boundary redefines 2.2 kilometers of the Vinaròs coastline: these are the changes

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General11 September 2026 at 05:50

The new coastline map of Vinaròs is now definitive. The Spanish Government approved the new delimitation of the maritime-terrestrial public domain, covering 2,249 meters of coastline. This stretch runs from els Cossis beach to the surroundings of the Aiguadoliva ravine, redefining a significant part of the coastal strip of this municipality.

The procedure for this new demarcation was initiated in 2025 and included several mandatory phases. Field studies were carried out to evaluate the characteristics of the coastal zone, followed by a public information period, and subsequently the claims submitted by interested parties were analyzed.

With this approval, the new limits of the maritime-terrestrial public domain are established in the covered area. This redefinition has important implications for the management of coastal territory, property, and urban planning of the area.
