Alicia Esteve, a Catalan citizen, created for six years a false identity as Tania Head, an alleged survivor of the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York. This impostor even became the leader of a victims' association of the attack, deceiving hundreds of people for years.

The fraud was finally exposed in 2007 by The New York Times newspaper, which revealed that Alicia Esteve had never been in New York on the day of the attacks and that her story was completely invented.

Now, the story of this impostor is being documented in a documentary entitled "La superviviente", which explores in depth how it was possible to maintain this hoax for so long and the impact it had on the true victims of the tragedy.
