Vasco announced on Thursday the loan signing of defender Gabriel Pereira, 26 years old. The player landed in Rio de Janeiro tonight and will wear shirt number 55. Now, he will undergo medical exams at Cruz-Maltino before finalizing the bureaucratic paperwork.

Gabriel Pereira was a starter at Copenhagen, the Danish club where he had been for three seasons and accumulated 97 matches. Before playing in Denmark, the defender went through Vilafranquense and Gil Vicente, both from Portugal. In Brazil, he professionally played only for Volta Redonda.

The agreement between Vasco and the player is a loan with a purchase option, which may become mandatory if established goals are met. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Gabriel Pereira will be the fifth signing of the Cruz-Maltino team this transfer window. Before him, Santiago Sosa, Facundo Colidio, Bruno Duarte and Alan Lescano had already arrived.
