Regional Government of the Azores highlights bilingual and artistic education at start of school year

Government official Sofia Ribeiro, regional secretary for Education, Culture and Sports of the Azores, today highlighted in São Jorge the implementation of new pedagogical projects at the start of the 2026/2027 school year. During the official ceremony for the opening of the new school year, held at a school on the island, the government official emphasized two main initiatives: bilingual education in English and artistic education in the first cycle of basic education. These measures are part of a broader strategy of educational innovation implemented by the Regional Government of the Azores. The event marks the official start of academic activities in the autonomous region, reinforcing the commitment of regional authorities to the quality of education offered to Azorean students.
