Andoni Zubizarreta presented his resignation from Atlas, a Mexican club from Guadalajara, only three months after taking up the position. The former goalkeeper left the Mexican club during the month of August 2024.
Zubizarreta was the sporting director of Atlas, having arrived in Mexico also with the role of technical director. His passage through the club was quite short, lasting only about three months.
Before arriving in Mexico, Zubizarreta had extensive experience in European football. He defended the Barcelona goal for several years and was an international for the Spanish national team, having participated in two editions of the World Cup.
This resignation comes at a time when Atlas is going through a difficult phase in the Mexican competition, which may have contributed to the former player's decision to leave the position earlier than planned.
