Fluminense confirmed on Thursday the severity of the injuries to two of their players. Striker Cano underwent exams on Wednesday and was diagnosed with a grade 3 injury to the posterior thigh muscle of the right leg, with an expected return in two months. The Argentine left the stadium limping after the 2-0 victory over Platense on Tuesday, in the first leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals, alongside his son Lorenzo.

In the play where Cano got injured, Fluminense had a clear chance to extend the score in a counter-attack. The number 14 received the ball with open field ahead and had Lucho Acosta free to shoot, but he fumbled at the moment of the kick. The striker had also undergone the post-match doping test.

As for defender Ignácio, he suffered a grade 2 injury to the anterior muscle of the left thigh, with an expected return in approximately 15 days. Due to the problem, he was left out of the last match against Platense in the Libertadores.
