Farhan Haq, deputy spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, remembered this Thursday the nearly 3,000 victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The official described the attack as "an attack against humanity itself."
Farhan Haq also paid tribute to the survivors of the tragedy. The spokesperson also did not forget the first responders who risked their lives while attending to the victims of the attacks.
The September 11, 2001 attacks occurred more than two decades ago, but the United Nations continues to mark this date annually in memory of the thousands of people who lost their lives.
