A man died after being stung by an Asian wasp in Felgueiras, in the district of Porto. Civil Protection has already intervened in over 540 nests of this invasive species in the region.
As a preventive measure, Civil Protection recommends setting traps to control the Asian wasp population.
Civil Protection also calls on the population to report any Asian wasp nests they identify to authorities, in order to allow a rapid intervention and avoid further accidents.
