Felgueiras will celebrate the European Heritage Days with a program that will take place on September 19 and 26, bringing the municipality's traditions and history to different cultural spaces, including a participation in Porto.
On September 19, Felgueiras will be represented on Rua das Flores, in Porto, with a parade dedicated to the Cortejo das Flores and the Bordado Terra de Sousa e Lixa, featuring embroidered traditional costumes. On the same day, the workshop "Bordado Terra de Sousa e Lixa: Make your first stitch" will also take place at the Certified Arts Gallery.
The program continues on September 26 with various initiatives in the municipality. At 3:00 PM, the Casa da Cultura Leonardo Coimbra, in Lixa, hosts a colloquium on Eduardo de Freitas, physician, politician and archaeologist on the centenary of his death. At 2:30 PM, the Museu Casa do Assento hosts an ecological detergent workshop, limited to 15 participants by registration until September 21. At 9:00 PM, the Monastery of Santa Maria de Pombeiro hosts the concert "Para dois corações – viola amarantina" by the Rui Fernandes Quartet.
The European Heritage Days aim to bring the population closer to cultural heritage, traditions and the history of communities.
