The fourth edition of Cine Favela LGBTQIAPN+ takes place from September 23 to 27 at the Quadra do Alto, in Vidigal, Rio de Janeiro's South Zone. The festival features a free program that includes film screenings, training activities, and cultural presentations, highlighting productions made from the favelas and by LGBTQIAPN+ people.
The competitive showcase brings together short films from favela-based and LGBTQIA+ filmmakers, featuring works of fiction, documentary, experimental, comedy, and science fiction. The sessions will take place on September 24, 25, and 26, at six time slots, always at 6:30 PM and 8 PM.
The works address themes such as identity, racism, sexuality, memory, aging, belonging, and relationships of affection. The festival's goal is to give visibility to stories, bodies, affections, and experiences that originate from the peripheries, crossing different genres and languages of cinema.
