Jornal Económico10 September 2026 at 21:05

Businessman Rui Roriz completed the acquisition of the equity stakes that the investment fund Crest Capital held in Torneiras Roriz and W7, regaining full control of both companies and creating Roriz Group. The transaction, whose value was not disclosed, marks the beginning of a new strategic phase of sustainable growth, innovation and internationalization for the two brands in the bathroom solutions sector.

Crest Capital's entry into the shareholder structure had occurred in 2022, fulfilling a phase of transformation and organizational consolidation. With this cycle completed, Rui Roriz now assumes full leadership and strategic autonomy of the companies, based in Braga.

The creation of Roriz Group reflects the ambition to consolidate a stronger and more integrated business project, prepared to meet the challenges of international markets, while maintaining Portugal as the center of operations and innovation capacity. With production in Portugal and presence in dozens of international markets, the group plans to continue investing in the development of new products, industrial modernization, sustainability and in strengthening the positioning of its brands in the global market.

President of ATEVA alerts to 70 million liters of wine per year without identified destination

The president of the Technical Association of Alentejo Wine Growers (ATEVA), Nuno Rodrigues, warned that around 70 million liters of wine are legally imported into Portugal every year without the State being able to track their final destination, creating risks that foreign product may be incorporated into wines presented as Portuguese. The association supported the national protest of wine growers held at 39 points across the country, under the slogan "No to fraud, yes to what is Portuguese," and announced it will take the claims to the Ministry of Agriculture, proposing the use of the Vineyard and Wine Information System to track imported wine movements and give regional wine commissions the capacity for inspection. Nuno Rodrigues rejected the banning of imports, defending only that the same traceability requirements applied to certified Portuguese wines be required for imported wines.
