Seven union structures of the security forces that did not sign the agreement with the Government two years ago are threatening the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI) with new street protests. These structures represent elements of the PSP and the GNR who did not benefit from the assignment of the risk allowance provided for in that agreement.
The unions demand that the current minister Luís Neves equate the professionals of the PSP and the GNR to those of the Judicial Police, considering that there is a feeling of betrayal among the elements of the security forces who were excluded from the risk allowance.
The previous agreement, signed two years ago, allowed the assignment of the risk allowance to some elements of the security forces, but the seven structures that are now protesting had not subscribed to it at the time, thus being left out of this measure.
Faced with the threat of new street protests, the Ministry of Internal Administration now faces pressure from the unions to resolve this situation of inequality between the different security bodies.
