The Left Bloc considered that the measures announced by the Government are "crumbs" that have already been "swallowed" by the interest rate hikes. José Manuel Pureza, from the Left Bloc, made this classification during the debate on the motion of censure presented by Chega, which took place on Tuesday.
According to Pureza, the announced measures represent "a small handout" that, given the interest rate hikes, ends up being "less than nothing". The left-wing party thus criticizes the insufficiency of the government responses to the current economic situation.
The debate took place in the context of the motion of censure presented by Chega, a party that used the occasion to confront the executive with its political positions. Pureza took the opportunity to attack the Government's policies and underline his position regarding the ongoing economic measures.
