Fruit and vegetable producers have 15 more days to submit operational programs

Eco10 September 2026 at 18:49

Fruit and vegetable producers will have 15 more days to submit their operational programs and amendment requests, with the final deadline moving from September 15 to September 30. The amendment was approved by the Government through the seventh amendment to Order No. 54-F/2023, which extends the timeframe for submitting technical documentation.

The measure aims to reduce the bureaucratic workload of Producer Organizations during the peak agricultural season. The new calendar allows for more efficient management of applications and avoids the need for last-minute extensions.

The previous date, set for September 15, coincided with the critical harvest phase, forcing agricultural managers to balance strategic planning with the period of greatest operational overload in the field. This situation has in the past led to successive extensions of the legal deadline.

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Sea states that by extending the deadline to the end of September, the Executive strengthens the capacity of Producer Organizations to manage increasingly technical and demanding programs, ensuring that the regulatory framework keeps pace with the sector's evolution.
