The film was financed by Daniel Vorcaro, a banker who is currently imprisoned for fraud and corruption. Vorcaro is a central figure in the investigation into the origin of the resources used in the production.

Authorities suspect that far-right congressmen may have allocated state funds for the production of the film. The operation seeks to clarify whether there was improper use of public money in the financing of the cinematographic work.
