MOBI.E officially assumed new functions as the Data Aggregating Entity for Electric Mobility (DAEEM), marking a historic step in the centralization of information on the national charging infrastructure. This advancement enables, for the first time, fully integrated and real-time information to be made available on the entire national network of electric vehicle charging points.
The first Charging Point Operators (CPO) that operated independently successfully completed integration testing on the new data platform. This transformation results from the new Legal Framework for Electric Mobility (LFEM) and responds to the requirements of European Regulation 2023/1804, known as the AFIR Regulation, which obliges all public access charging point operators to share their station data free of charge and on a non-discriminatory basis.
MOBI.E now acts as an intermediary bridge between private operators and the National Access Point (NAP), whose management falls under the responsibility of the Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes (IMT). The company assumes the responsibility of collecting, structuring, and harmonizing the information shared by the CPOs, ensuring that all data is transmitted to the NAP according to the formats and technical standards defined by the European Union.
Electric vehicle drivers thus gain centralized access to crucial data such as the exact location of stations, their respective technical characteristics, accepted payment methods, prices charged, and real-time availability status. The NAP functions as the open reference platform of each Member State, ensuring transparency and universal accessibility to mobility data throughout the European space.
