The first charging point operators that were not connected to MOBI.E completed integration tests on the company's new data platform, which will now aggregate information from the entire national electric charging network. This integration results from MOBI.E's new functions as the Aggregating Entity for Data on Electric Mobility (EADME), provided for in the new legal framework for Electric Mobility and arising from the European regulation on alternative fuels infrastructure (AFIR).
In this new framework, all public access charging point operators are required to provide, free of charge and on a non-discriminatory basis, information about their stations, including location, technical characteristics, payment methods, prices, and real-time availability. MOBI.E now collects and aggregates this data and transmits it to the National Access Point (PAN), a platform managed by the Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes (IMT).
The charging network currently connected to MOBI.E includes more than 30 electricity suppliers for electric mobility and around a hundred charging point operators. Operators already connected to the platform were integrated through an internal migration process, while those without a connection to the company are carrying out integration tests.
MOBI.E's chairman, António Veiga Ferrão, stated that providing complete and reliable information about the charging network is essential to ensure transparency and support the evolution of electric mobility. MOBI.E has been a public company since 2015 and, in addition to its new data aggregation functions, is responsible for managing and monitoring the electric mobility network as the Managing Entity of the Electric Mobility Network (EGME).
