The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) marked a day of protest for wage increase, reacting to the European Central Bank's decision to raise interest rates for the second time this year.
The interest rate rise was 25 basis points, a decision that the PCP classifies as "wrong".
The Portuguese communists consider that this European Central Bank measure negatively affects workers and families, worsening the economic difficulties of the population.
The protest marked by the PCP comes in the context of a year in which the European Central Bank has already raised interest rates twice, which has a direct impact on the cost of credit and the economic conditions of citizens.
