A show with more than two thousand drones illuminated the Ground Zero area, in New York, to mark the 25 years after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers. The aerial demonstration created images in the sky that represented what the organizers described as a tribute to the victims.
Each drone represented a person who died during the attack on the Twin Towers, forming silhouettes and visual representations in the night sky. The event took place in the area that previously housed the business complex destroyed in the worst terrorist attack in the history of the United States.
The commemoration coincided with the 25th anniversary of the attack that killed nearly three thousand people when hijacked planes crashed into the twin towers, the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania. The drone show brought together thousands of people in the Lower Manhattan area to watch the tribute.
